Description

With its high protection class IP66, the SFDQL series of floodlights for potentially explosive atmospheres in Zones 1, 2 as well as 21 and 22 is suitable for lighting large areas and buildings where there are rough ambient conditions. This light is the ideal solution for medium and high suspension heights, both for offshore oil and gas drilling installations, and for industrial, chemicals and petrochemicals installations, for pipelines and refineries. The lighting series is designed with type of protection “Ex eq”, and may be implemented both with separate junction box or without junction box. Induction lamps with 55W, 85W or 165W are used as illuminant, providing a high, no flicker illumination density.

The use of induction lamps and high frequency generators means that this lamp has been designed for lamp change intervals of ≥ 60,000 hours. Due to the long service life of the illuminant, this floodlight is ideal for installation in areas that are difficult to reach or that are difficult to disconnect from the mains. What is more, induction lamps are very efficient and energy-saving, making them ideal when replacing ubiquitous high pressure lamps. This minimises energy consumption while also keeping servicing costs down.
For the electrical connection, depending on the design, one or two M20x1.5 threaded holes are provided on the floodlight to house the cable glands or blanking plugs, approved for the explosion protected area. An adjustable swivel bracket makes the light suitable for wall and ceiling mounting. An adapter for mounting on a pole is similarly available.
